You talk a lot of being on your own and having to fight alone, and being used to it, and taking it for granted. But the undertone appears to me one of hurt amazement, as if you’d keep expecting something else. Perhaps you should accept absolute loneliness as a basic fact of life, whatever happens. It can still be a starting point to go on and away from. You can still look for companionship. You can still give and receive. But you won’t take as hard a hit when you get thrown back there. It will happen over and over. Figure out how to protect yourself. ***
