Beam me into the ng
Question:
Welcome Danielle. Glad you decided to join us full time. May I make one suggestion? Yes? Okay, here it is. You might seriously wish to remove your home address from your signature line. Every wierdo now knows where you live. If you ever say you are going to be away for a few days, well, I’m sure you get the picture. welcome Danielle! — Jane in AZ *I hope to be the kind of person my dog thinks I am* – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Hi Everybody, I think it is time to introduce myself. As some of you may know I have never been completely lurking but I’ve not been an active participate either. I would usually post a message when it flirted with my background but that was all I would contribute. Perhaps it is now time to change that. I am Danielle Bercel. I have migraines but they are under control largely due to reading this ng and then getting appropriate medical assistance. Let me tell you a bit about myself. Though I am now a software engineer the road to my present career has been somewhat circuitous. I have a B.A. in music (I play piano), and a minor in biology. After completing my undergraduate work I went on to medical school. However, I left medical school when I discovered computers in 1974. I made my living as a musician for quite a few years before I switched careers and became a software engineer. I have been working as a software engineer for twenty years. Fifteen in the SillyCon Valley and five in the Boss Angeles area (which is where I am from.) I had CDH for about two years during 1978 & 1979. But they stopped. In 1987 I started having migraines. I did nothing "special" for them until I sought treatment in 1994, largely as a result of reading this ng. The migraines are now under control. I take verapamil as a preventive, Imitrex (and sometimes Maxalt), as an abortive, and Stadol when all else fails. I’m somewhat reclusive and usually feel I don’t have too much to say, hence the scarcity of postings from me. Besides the migraines I did find that I related very strongly to the recent post on loneliness. I have been alone, and lonely, for far too many, many years. I am, Sincerely, danielle [Stupidity got me into this mess| 965 Stewart Drive ] [why can't it get me out? | Sunnyvale, CA 94086 ]

I am Danielle Bercel.
Hi Danielle, I to am a migraine "sufferer" – since I was a child and I am now in my mid fifties. Over the years I have been given everything imaginable. I now have them better controlled using a combination of relaxation/biofeedback I learned at the Diamond Headache Clinic in Chicago. When I have one I use Imitrex which sure beats demerol and visterill (spelling ?). I am female, divorced and have been fighting loneliness since my Mother’s death last April. She lived with me. I understand, KPompe

Hi Danielle, Welcome to the newsgroup, from one newcomer to another. Since you’ve been kind of lurking, as I did for a month or so, you know these people are very supportive and caring, not to mention, very knowledeable. They have certainly helped me get better care for my migraines, from my doctor. Hope to see your postings. Hi Danielle. I, too, have been in the "lonely loop" for a long time, but this ng has done wonders for me this past year. I haven’t been posting much lately, or writing emails to my wonderful ng friends (please forgive me!), but I come here every day. It keeps me from feeling too far away from the rest of the human race. I hope this ng does the same for you. ~ Miki (Pooh) ..the early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese…
