We can cure physical diseases with medicine, but the only cure for loneliness, despair, and hopelessness is love. …

Cathy, thank you for posting this. Regardless of one’s faith or beliefs, Mother Teresa’s words speak to our universal condition as human beings and our bonds with one another. Only love can transcend the differences of our heritage, socioeconomic "status," and physical condition. I have several books of Mother Teresa’s writings and sayings, and indeed her words all boil down to the simple message you have quoted above. We are here to LOVE ONE ANOTHER, no matter how difficult that may seem. Think of the diseased "untouchables" Mother Teresa and her sisters ministered to in the world’s worst slums. She did not see these sick and dying people as garbage in the street, but rather as kindred souls that she was born to soothe, to LOVE. I am very inspired by reading this quote today. It is a perfect message for this season! Sending you and yours *Love* this holiday season. xxxooo Anne

There are many in the world who are dying for a piece of bread, but there are many more dying for a little love. Mother Theresa — P.H.O.B.I.A.
