Bickering
Question:
I love chocolate, you love vanilla. Separately they are delicious and a matter of choice. They also blend well to create another exciting flavor.
mmmmm… chocolate…
Response:
First of all, if I can order pecans over the internet from the Mississippi Delta, then I don’t see ANY reason why you can’t send me a mint julep! Second of all, while I can’t speak for others, I usually come back at least once, sometimes twice, because I want to UNDERSTAND the view I disagree with. Sometimes I learn something, sometimes it alters my view, sometimes it just ends up annoying me – but never have I learned anything without the give and take of discourse. That said, I usually tune out if/when it gets ugly
Oh – and I like vanilla with chocolate syrup – best of both worlds
) Janie Why come back with an argument against something just because you don’t agree? All you have to do is ignore it as you would anyone who didn’t threaten you physically. Why care if a post is slanted? Some of the most unique architecture is created by the use of angles. I love chocolate, you love vanilla. Separately they are delicious and a matter of choice. Dipping into the mint juleps a little there Jim? Very mellow post. Peace to you too dahling. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Sometimes I sit at my PC working offline and I enjoy the quiet of my serene little world. This news group has given me a lot of comfort through these many months of recovery from an unwanted divorce. I’ve laughed, I’ve cried, I’ve gotten a little upset at times, but I’ve never entered into heated exchanges with anyone. I don’t argue points that are nebulous and open to interpretation. I like and respect all of you as the unique individuals you are. I personally don’t care if your views are biased, most are because we can only come here from where we are. That bias is what makes this an interesting place to visit. My style is simple and to the point. Others dissect, expand and expound until I get lost and click out. Some posts are emotional and some are very clinical, but all are from individuals who’s perceptions are colored by personal experience. And that is what it all boils down to, personal observations and experiences. So how can anyone argue against another’s opinion. Why bother? Why expend so much energy trying to convince another that you are right and they are wrong. It’s only an opinion for Christ’s sake.
