Dear Chief….I don’t think you have to tell your son….he’ll find out sooner or later anyway about how his friend feels. Very recently my daughter taught me a very important lesson.  Now, you have to remember that I born and raised in rural Alabama….and taught from birth to be racist.  Many years ago, I moved to Atlanta, and found that all the things I had been taught were totally wrong !!  Yet…a part of me still resisted the idea of interacial relationships.  My daughter…who is still too young to date…asked me not too long ago if I would allow her to go out with a black guy.  My initial and instant response was "no."  She asked why.  I stumbled around for an answer and could only come up with "because you’re white and the cultures are different."  She instantly responded with "but we’re all God’s children, aren’t we?"  At that point, I realized that "I" was wrong in my thinking ! I also realized that although I could accept my white daughter going out with a black guy….that society as a whole would reject them and they would be subjected to people that think like I did…and your brother does….and thus, she would suffer. I have no idea where I’m going with this …. <smile>   Anyway…I guess the bright side of all of this is that the racism is not being instilled in the children being brought up these days.   They’re looking at each other as children of God….not as "black" or "white" … and I’m learning each day to be able to do the same — through my child. As a side note….she also asked her Dad the same question and he told her he didn’t mind if she had black friends, but he wouldn’t want her dating a black guy.  Then she asked her Grandmother…who told her she didn’t care what color they were….as long as she (my daughter) was happy.  Isn’t it odd that her Grandmother gave the best answer ….the "right" answer ?  :-) Hugs and Smiles, Gina "Some days are diamonds…  Some days are rocks….  Some doors are open…  Some roads are blocked…"             —Tom Petty http://hometown.aol.com//lawdawga/HomePpage.html

racism aside, what business is it of his to hate a stranger’s preference in mates? he afraid that the world will run out of white women or something? what difference can it possibly make to a stranger who someone else dates/marries? — For info about this service, see http://anon.twwells.com/help/ or e-mail: h…@anon.twwells.com   — for an automatically returned help message ad…@anon.twwells.com  – for the service’s administrator ano…@anon.twwells.com — anonymous mail to the administrator

Hi Paul !!  How have you been doing ? Yeah….sad, but true….I figure people are always going to find something to justify their prejudice.  Hey…I wear a size 7 shoe!!  <laugh>  Of course, I believe this must be the most common size….’cause almost every time I find a shoe I like….all the size 7’s are gone !!! mmm.. reminded me of something my Grandma used to say.. Prejudice is born of the small minded and those that do not understand God’s true meaning, nor the reason behind the language and the punishment or challenge in splitting of man’s external colors.. to ever remember some merely quote the bible text in word and not deed.. I don’t believe in small mindedness.. but love and forgiveness instead which allows you a much broader scope in life’s reality. I choose to forgive.. for I was forgiven.. The world can be as twas dreamed.. if only those of true faith openly follow and believe.. that means.. none should nail another to a cross but instead.. have faith in God’s judgment, for we are not capable of judging man, we are flawed.. and to not simply believe man’s interpretation of the "reality" of the total concept.. I believe in man’s innate goodness.. I would not follow Satan and "judge" another, nor damn them to utter loneliness.. in either support group on the internet.. or in "real" life.. I worry for you Gina.. I care and I love you and miss you posting here, your like a sister to me… but your last words I read.. show no change in your hatred of simply a poster .. one who ignored the hits for almost a year.. who is prejudice against who?
