Introducing myself as a BPD patient

Hi there! I’m relieved to have found a discuss-group about this mental disorder. I’m a married woman, 34 yrs old and I have two children I’ve been diagnosed:BPD. It goes back (the cause of it) from my early childhood. I’ve beren spoiled rotten as the youngest of nine children compenstionan by my mother, who didn’t have time for me as she was working all the time) I find it very hard to live with it, it causes a lot of pain, emptyness, problems within relationships… My e-mail adress is:scully-mul…@online.be. Hello. Welcome to ASP. So you’ve been "spoiled rotten" ? <g>, I wonder if the operative words here are "mother, who didnt’ have time for me…". Attention cannot be made up by "spoiling" a child; was there a lack of engagement by her? Overcompensation with anything to "make up" for lack of real attention can be devastating. I think, from my readings, that there is a common theme of lack of maternal bonding with BPD. Perhaps that is why there is the persistent sense of loneliness. We are all in various "stages" of finding our way here.
