By saying "temptation to think dualistically" do you mean temptation to think for others? – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text ->

Yes. I like the thinking. I might have put it a little differently, but it would amount to the same thing in the end. And both versions open up the way to questions. Many many questions. Of course we see ourselves as separated beings, but > this separation can also be seen as something illusory.
Yes! And I think the illusory separation is the one that’s causing all the problems

Maybe i’d put it a little differently. It would be great if we could be able to see the relationship between our thinking, and our past experiences, so we would be more objective. See our own deviations, and "rise above" them in order to get a clearer view. Thinking dualistically, i.e. in terms of rigid right/wrong, can be an immense obstruction for objectivity. >Everything is relative, in its own way, as someone almost sang… >But if I say so, I project that onto the world, and then it is only projection >that the world project that I project that it does…..(Here, ahve soem of >my tylenols:))

Makes a lot of sense. Of course we see ourselves as separated beings, but this separation can also be seen as something illusory. The fact that we (or at least some of us) can identify with other people is a good hint in this direction. People who can’t identify with others, are more separated, people who open themselves up to others, can be more integrated. So here’s a ready-to-use cure for loneliness!! Just realize that separation is illusion, et voila, we’re un-lonelied. Purely a matter of trust/faith. Don’t i make it look easy?

There’s still something i want to say about us, i’ve been thinking a bit on this projection stuff, and it became very clear to me how i’ve always put my self-image in the hands of others. So i’ve been more concerned with other’s view on myself, than my own self-image. I’ve done this with you too. So in our communications, i’ve adapted myself to you, rather than just been myself. So i can kind of understand your reaction upon finding out about my hypocrisy. So much for self-criticism. To even things out, i would like to criticize the way you handle criticism, but i’m still a bit reluctant to do so, because of the way you handle criticism. Ah, well, it doesn’t matter because it’s all projection anyway:-) Arie

Yes, it is. Everything depends on the point of view you take. If we can let go of comparison and identifying, it’s all the same, and nothing really matters. Easy to say of course. The temptation to think dualistically is very strong. Goes for both of us, i guess. Arie

Now now, you are thinking dualistically in thinking for both of us, now:) Is there such a thing as thinking dualistically? I mena, we wlays have many past expriences affecting the dorection of our thoughts…Where then it woudl be great if one coudl think *only* dualistically, woudl it not:) Everything is relative, in its own way, as someone almost sang… But if I say so, I project that onto the world, and then it is only projection that the world project that I project that it does…..(Here, ahve soem of my tylenols:)) Now, Let me take you down to….
