Looking for Navajo Blessing chart
Question:
Hi, A friend of mine is looking for a chart that has the Navajo blessing (marraige related we think) that goes something like this: "If there be wind, let one be shelter for the other…" If anyone has this chart, could you let me know? Also if anyone knows the rest of the blessing and could send it to me that would be great. Then we would just try to chart it ourselves. Thanks in advance. Anne
Response:
Anne, I don’t know about a Navajo blessing, but there’s an Apache blessing chart; I did it for my daughter and SIL. The chart is in "Indian Prayers" by Imaginating. Apache Blessing Now you will feel no rain for each will be a shelter to the other Now you will feel no cold for each will be warmth to the other Now you will feel no loneliness for each will be a friend to the other You are now two people but there is one life before you Go now to your dwelling place and enter into your togetherness And may your days be good and long upon the earth There’s also another version of the same blessing, by another company, with slightly different text and more ornate decorations. — My opinions are my own; if IBM shares them, they haven’t told me.
