Running Fiction
Question:
Hello, I’ve recently completed a story I think runners would like a lot. Unfortunately, most of the periodicals on running in my Writer’s Market don’t list running magazines that accept fiction. Can anyone suggest a magazine? Thanks, Frank–
Response:
Try Running Times. I’m the Art Director here, and we just ran our first piece of fiction a couple of month’s ago. Contact John Parker, our read of it. -john hall If you knew how i felt now, you wouldn’t act so adult now -p westerberg

Can’t find the root of this thread, but a book whick might be considered "running fiction" is _The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner_, but I cannot remember the author of this bleak and depressing tale of lower class british life. —Lou
Response:
The Author was Stillitoe (sp), and I don’t recall enjoying it much. Darryl Brooks Atlanta, Ga.

I can’t think of a particular periodical to suit your needs specifically, but I have two suggestions: 1-don’t limit yourself to running magazines; there are enough runners out there that I think your piece could fly in a "secular" periodical, 2-write to Runner’s World with your question; they will certainly know, and the info would be useful to many of their readers. Let the Newsgroup know what you find out. I don’t have anything ready now, but you may have inspired me. Good Luck, Chris Twiggs
