today sucks

Question:

today sucks. nothing good happened. i didnt try to make anything good happen. i did see a beautiful woman driving by. just like they always do. i hate materialistic people. i drive a nissan 200sx(12 years old). good condition. no it aint a lexus. it only has 80k miles on it. I guess i would be a better person if i drove a lexus?

Response:

Well, try to forget about people like that. They’re not worth the brain cells. You’ll be a better person if you drove a hummer, I’ve seen one of them expensive german cars smash into one of them and the hummer just had a dented license plate and some bumps and bruises while the other car was just totaled. Hehe… Anyway, don’t think about. So what?  Would you want to date any of them?  Every time you get yourself a new car, you’d have to go looking for a new woman again! Well….did you ever stop to think that if this is the kind of people at a particular club or place….maybe it’s the wrong place for you ?  Find a place to hang out where you have something in common with the "real" people.      And how many women have you *not* seen do that?  I’ve seen men that have characteristics and traits that I don’t appreciate, either.  But, I don’t go judging all men by them, nor do I expect that the next one I run into is going to be the same.     "All generalities are false."  Seriously, though,  it is not a good idea to generalize so much about members of the opposite sex.  Not to mention, that if you’re always looking for the worst in people, you most often will find it.     Also, some women do just like nice cars.  Myself, I like nice bikes. Especially, Harley’s.  And you better believe I’ll walk out of a club to go see one.  Doesn’t mean I won’t go for a guy that doesn’t have one.  : ) J —  May I Always Live           Where The Sky Is Open             Fences Are Not,               And The Spirit Walks.                            A Sioux Perspective

Dear Gemini: Okay…I give up.  What does a Lexus have to do with what kind of person you are ?  Oh yes…I read the "materialistic" part.  Sorry, but there’s always going to be materialistic people around…you don’t have to make them a part of your world.  In the same breath, there’s always going to be real people around and you should make them a part of your world.  I’m sorry you’re feeling down today..really.  Try putting the bad thoughts away and focus on something positive.  Yes…you "can" find something positive if you look long enough.      Now, are you telling me that because the woman was beautiful, she is materialistic?  If you *think* driving a "lexus" would make you a better person, it will.  That’s how our minds work.  You didn’t try to make anything good happen today, so nothing good did happen.  That’s how life works.     I’m going to share an incident with you that I saw this morning at the airport.  I was sitting, waiting for the plane to take off, feeling full of tears and trying real hard not to be letting them spill all over the place. I saw this real petite, exquisitely  beautiful woman coming alone through the gate.  The kind that is so well dressed and so beautiful that you just can’t help but notice her.     Her eyes were darting here and there as she searched for someone.  All of a sudden, her eyes lit, a wide smile appeared on her face and her steps quickened.  I turned in the direction she was looking to see what Adonis was meeting her.  Coming toward her, hands already reaching for her, was  a guy about 5′ 5" tall, about 30 lbs. minimum, overweight, full beard and glasses.  Wearing baggy shorts and a pull over.  But, the same light could be seen in the eyes behind those glasses.     As they reached each other, one hand slipped her flight bag from her shoulder to his as his other arm pulled her close.  She leaned into him and her face was toward me.  Her eyes were closed and lips were in a small smile and her whole face said, "Home, safe, just where I want to be."  They broke the hug, for a brief kiss and walked off together, each with an arm around the other and he smiling at her as she talked a blue streak.  <smile>  You know, Gemini, fact is, you never do know!  : ) J "If at first you don’t succeed, change the rules."
