It did wonders for me. This weekend I was telling a friend when it struck me that it was working. I was riding the train and saw a big, rather formidable person. Instead of seeing him as ugly or threatening, I was able to imagine what he must have looked like as a little child. I think Prozac (combined with therapy) allowed me to perceive (and therefore live in) a more charitable world. Give it a few weeks. It will certainly help you cope. If it doesn’t, tell your doctor and see if another med works better for you.

Anxiety, yes.  Loneliness, I think less likely. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – i hope this prozac helps the anxietys that i am experiencing.i also hope it helps me cope with the lonliness i feel as well. at least i am eating again.

Response:

I’m on Wellbutrin as well – was before all this hit me thank goodness – and yep, about two weeks seem to be about how long it took me to level out. I was really tweaked up for the first week (hooeey, that was a mess!) but since then it’s been smooth sailing. I’ve A.D.D. on top of anxiety issues, and it’s like I’m a different person now. Sort of. You know what I mean.

Give it two weeks at least.  I’m on Wellbutrin and I think for all meds, it takes that long, before you notice any changes. Suzanne H "People are like stained-glass windows.
